#2371 Simple Editor Lagging
Date created:
Type: bug
Visibility: Everybody
Assigned to:
State: new Help

> What steps will reproduce the problem? I'm not sure how to reproduce this, its not always consistent. > What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The Simple Editor will lag, or become very slow at times. > What version of the product are you using? Is it "nightly build"? Which operating system do you have? (PREVIEW) version 22.0.0 nightly 3007 Windows 11 Pro > Please provide any additional information below. If the problem is related to a SWF file, attach it here, otherwise we can't help you. The lagging happens regardless of the SWF file in use. My system is not a potato, so I don't believe its a hardware issue. I have already tried increasing the cpu priority of both JPEXS and JAVA, but noticed no differences. I also tried increasing cache size, but that made no change either, so I reverted back to default.

I can't really fix this without reproducing it first. I know the editor may be slow when scene has lot of filters applied. You can try lowering "Box blur filter pixels limit" in advanced settings. Please let me know when you find some specific steps which can lead to this, or whether lower the blur limit helped.

The latest update seems to have improved this significantly. The next time I have an issue I will send the file I'm working on in hopes you can replicate the issue.
